It all began with a plan: A plan to Get Out the Vote in Burnet County. It developed into a team of volunteers doing what they could, a little here & a little there. Not every volunteer is pictured, but all of them did their part. From August 1 to September 30 contacts were made, signs were distributed, & friendships were grown. You can be part of the team, too, by plugging in to BCRC, and other Republican activities.
On Saturday, September 12, Burnet County Republicans had a booth at Marble Falls Market Days. BCRC & BCRW were represented by the volunteers. Gail Teegarden organized the day, which we spent handing out stickers, yard signage, & other freebies, and registering voters. Talking to fellow Republicans & encouraging them to vote and get involved politically are always the theme at events like this. Volunteers pictured are GOP County Chair Tammy Hullum, Stacy Smith, Caroline Richmond, Judy & Mike Salvaggio, Mary Jane Avery, Londa Chandler, & Russell & Sally Tutor. Other volunteers included Brenda Miles, Dottie Stueckroth, & Gail Teegarden.
On August 1, Mary Jane Avery & Gail Teegarden arranged a training session with Lou Minick, area rep for Texans for Abbott. Lou provided hands on help as a group of Republican Precinct Chairs and others learned how to use the Abbott Impact App.
As a follow up to the training, Mary Jane hosted the first of 3 texting parties. Lou Minick joined us once again, and about 10 ladies & 1 gentleman ( Yay Earl!) gathered to text area voters & encourage them to support the Republicans on the ballot.
Another event took place quietly on September 12, and Russell & Sally were honored to witness it. The Marble Falls Fired Department held their annual commemoration of the heroes of 9/11. Fire Fighters pictured are Jeff Beltran, Hunter Cavazos, Kelly Ostrich, Justin McPherson, & Bailee Hasenpflug. They were joined in the commemoration by Michael Tutor of Marble Falls Police Department. It was very moving to witness the strength needed to go the distance, and we’re thankful for the experience.
Our final summer event was the Republican Booth at the Oatmeal Festival in Bertram on Sept. 26. Pictured are the set- up team: Reno Lamb and Russell & Sally Tutor. Other volunteers included County GOP Chair Tammy Hullum, CJ Pfau, Kerry Koths, Susan Doyle, & Virgine lamb. We were able to register voters and provide yard signage, and handed out lots of stickers and other freebies to passers by. It’s always good to meet fellow Republicans, and festivals provide a great opportunity to do that.
