The First Quarter Meeting of the Burnet County Republicans Club, January 12, 2026
The Principles of the Republican Party Platform of Texas state, “We believe in the sanctity of innocent human life, created in the image of God, which should be equally protected from fertilization to natural death.” In support of that principle, our January 12 meeting featured Attorney Bradley Pierce, president of both the Foundation to Abolish Abortion & Abolish Abortion Texas. Bradley sought to answer the question “How have abortion statistics changed since Roe v. Wade was overturned?” Unfortunately, current Texas laws haven’t change the statistics much. Before Roe v. Wade was overturned, the number of abortions per year in Texas was 55,000. Current statistics show that due to travel to out of state abortion providers & “self-induced” abortions the number is still at 55,000 abortions in Texas per year. Bradley cited the Penal Code (posted) as part of the explanation of how this is possible. More information on this topic is available at The Foundation to Abolish Abortion and Abolish Abortion Texas, & abortionfree.com.
